Whatever happens tonight...

...I think it's important for all of us to try to keep an open mind. Intention creates reality, and as long as a divided nation continues to bash their opposing party, it's fair to say that whoever takes office tonight will do a pretty freaking shitty job over the next four years if the lynch mob doesn't get to them first.

On my part, I've needed to detach myself from the result of tonight's election. I've spent so much time worrying that on some occasions I've become physically ill. Tonight, either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump will be elected Commander in Chief of the United States of America, and instead of pissing and moaning about what will happen when the election is over, I think we need to come together as a nation and remember the conditions under which this country was founded.

Divided as we may be on certain issues, we enjoy more freedom on U.S soil than we would in any other country in the world. We have the luxury of living in a civilized nation, where freedom, equality and charity are among our most treasured values.

We have the right to go on the internet and read a blog post, then retire to a warm bed, and rise in the morning to a heated shower and breakfast that we didn't need to hunt and kill. We actually bitch about taking out the garbage when come morning, it won't be there anymore, because our tax dollars pay to have it collected and managed elsewhere so that we don't need to smell it or be rendered ill by rot.

Whatever happens tonight, despite rumors of foreign diplomacy going awry, we will not be blown away in a big white flash. The earth will keep turning. The sun will keep rising and our right to worship our deities in whatever form They may be will remain untouched.

We guard our borders but remain plagued by civil unrest, racism, greed and fear. We are our own worst enemy. No one person can be elected to office and single-handedly cause more damage than we have to ourselves. Our right to vote is precious, but if we leave the true problems of this country to be solved by one person, our vote goes unheard by the forces that matter...the quantum forces.

May God bless the United States of America in all her glory!
